Crows feet are lines which appear in the skin near the outer corners of the eyes when we smile - hence their alternative name: smile lines. that radiate out from eye area towards the temples and cheeks. With age, as the level of collagen and elastin in the skin drops, these wrinkles may become static i.e. present at rest, not just on movement, and they may progress further down the cheeks.

We can treat these lines in isolation or in conjunction with other wrinkles. The most common approach is to address the forehead, frown and smile lines together. A neuromodulator, botulinum toxin (BOTOX®), is injected to relax the muscles around the eyes, reducing skin wrinkling and, with regular treatments, preventing the lines from becoming static. In the case of already static lines, the doctor may use dermal fillers to fill the wrinkles directly.
