Aesthetic medicine is slowly moving away from purely filling and volumising. Instead we are entering the territory of bioremodeling, biostimulating and biorestructuring; processes which utilise our own skin’s ability to regenerate itself in order to improve its hydration, density and elasticity. Nucleofill is composed of nucleotides which have a natural affinity to water, hence give the skin a large dose of hydration. In addition, as the nucleotides are broken down, their fragments play two important roles: free radical scavenging and stimulation of conversion of fibroblasts into myofibroblasts. Free radicals are found all around us and they constantly bombard our skin’s collagen, breaking it down. Free radical scavengers, like Nucleofill, prevent this collagen damage. And as for myofibroblasts, these are the cells involved in wound healing, more specifically contraction of the wound, and the increase in myofibroblasts gives rise to a visible lifting effect which can be achieved with Nucleofill.
What is Nucleofill®?
What issues can it be used to treat?
Lax, thin skin on the face and neck
Skin lacking radiance
Thin, dehydrated skin under the eyes
Expression lines and wrinkles
How does it compare to Profhilo®?
The fact that Nucleofill does not contain hyaluronic acid means that we can use it in patients who have a tendency to swell with hyaluronic acid fillers and skin boosters. Thanks to this, Nucleofill can also be used to rejuvenate the under eye area especially in those patients who are not candidates for tear trough fillers due to the presence of swelling.
What are the alternatives to Nucleofill®?
If you are interested in alternatives to Profhilo® which also target skin quality, you might be interested in the following:
